Can Inter keep up their perfect Serie A start?

26 September 2019

Inter have enjoyed a flying start to the campaign but can they keep that up when they face Sampdoria this weekend?

It has been five wins from five games for Inter in Serie A, putting the Nerazzurri top of the league and with a good chance of ending a nine-year wait for a Scudetto.

Romelu Lukaku has hit the ground running for Inter this season, scoring three goals in his first four games for the club.

Meanwhile over at Sampdoria, Fabio Quagliarella will be looking to rediscover his form from last season when the veteran found the net 26 times, winning the Serie A golden boot ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Sampdoria will be also looking for revenge this time out after conceding a 94th minute goal from Marcelo Brozović in this fixture last season.

This weekend presents a big opportunity for the likes of Manolo Gabbiadini and Quagliarella to step up to the fight, who will be facing a watertight defence, with Inter only conceding one goal thus far in Serie A.

Inter’s backline has been boosted by the signing of Diego Godín from Atlético Madrid.

Godín won LaLiga and Copa del Rey during his historic time in Madrid and joins Antonio Conte’s men with ambitions to add Serie A to his trophy cabinet.

Inter have also been boosted by the addition of Alexis Sánchez who joined from Manchester United on loan.

Alexis enjoyed a productive three years during his last stint  in Serie A, scoring 21 goals with Udinese before earning a move to FC Barcelona.
