Gareth Bale’s Real Madrid career has been defined by key goals on the biggest of occasions.
The Welsh wizard joined Los Blancos from Spurs in the summer of 2013 having scored a host of incredible goals for the north London outfit.
The transfer made big news and Bale was quick to make his mark on the club, netting on his debut.
Bale scored against Villarreal after just 38 minutes before coming off for Ángel Di María on 68 minutes.
The forward’s goals in his maiden season helped Madrid to the Copa del Rey final where Bale stole the show against FC Barcelona.
The 29-year-old took the ball in the midfield with Marc Bartra standing in his way but the forward powered past the defender before slotting home an incredible solo effort and winning the Copa del Rey for Madrid.
Little over a month later and Bale was helped Real Madrid to a momentous UEFA Champions League title.
With the final against Atlético Madrid locked at 1-1 in extra-time, Bale produced the biggest moment in his career, powering a header home from close range to give Los Blancos the lead.
Real Madrid went on to win the final in Lisbon 4-1 and complete an unprecedented tenth Champions League for the Merengues.
Bale’s second most prolific season for Los Blancos came in 2017-18 where he was once again at the centre of Madrid’s trophy winning exploits.
Real Madrid arrived in their third consecutive Champions League final in Kiev in May 2018, looking for a third straight title.
Coming up against Liverpool, Madrid opened the scoring through Karim Benzema before Sadio Mané levelled for the Reds.
Just like the 2014 final, Bale made the difference with the game at 1-1 but this time, in spectacular fashion.
Bale produced an incredible overhead kick to smash home Marcelo’s cross and leave Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius with no chance.
The goal will go down as one of the greatest Champions League final goals of all time as Madrid won a fourth European Cup in five seasons.
In the 2018-19 season, Bale reached his latest landmark at the club, scoring his 100th goal in a Los Blancos jersey.
It took the Welshman 217 matches to achieve the feat, netting the milestone goal in a 3-1 victory over rivals Atlético Madrid.
