Robben and Ribéry's best moments at FC Bayern

17 May 2019

Arjen Robben and Franck Ribéry are hoping to see out their FC Bayern Munich careers in style with a title-winning result over RB Leipzig.

A win or a draw over the third placed side would be enough for a seventh straight Bundesliga title and the perfect send off for the iconic wingers.

Robben joined the German outfit in August 2009, signing from Real Madrid and immediately taking on the number 10 jersey.

The Dutchman didn’t take long to make his presence felt in Bavaria, scoring 23 goals in his debut campaign.

That included a stunning volley against Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg as Robben helped guide the club all the way to the final where they lost to Inter 2-0.

After winning the double in his maiden season, Robben would have to wait until 2013 to taste glory once more.

Robben helped the club to the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and the Champions League in an iconic season.

Having felt heartbreak in the Champions League final in 2012 against Chelsea, Robben helped FC Bayern to the final once more and against Borussia Dortmund, the winger slotted home the winner in the 89th minute to ensure his name was up in lights.

Robben has won the league in every year since 2013, becoming a consistent performer across his 10 years at the club.

Heading into the final league match of the season, Robben has 143 goals in 307 matches and will be looking to add one more Bundesliga and one more DFB-Pokal to his name.

Robben and Ribéry first played together in August 2009, linking up well against VfL Wolfsburg at the Allianz Arena.

Ribéry played in substitute Robben after just five minutes of being on the field together to double FC Bayern’s lead before repeating the trick in the 80th minute to round off a 3-0 win.

Ribéry signed for FC Bayern in 2007 from Olympique de Marseille for a then club-record fee of €25 million.

Donning the number seven shirt, Ribéry scored his first league goal for the club on August 18, netting a penalty in a 4-0 victory over Werder Bremen.

In his first season, Ribéry netted 11 goals from 28 league matches to help FC Bayern reclaim the title.

Ribéry has been terrorising defenders for 12 years in Germany, laying on 182 assists and netting 123 goals in his 423 matches.

That included a hat-trick of assists against Wolfsburg in a 6-0 victory earlier this season to help FC Bayern go top of the table.

In total, Ribéry has 21 honours to his name from his 12 years with the club as well as finishing as the highest assist maker across the Bundesliga in three separate campaigns.
